The ride to Random Lake starts in Port Washington and then combines the Interurban Trail with rural roads and village streets. This route has some very challenging hills and short sections with moderate motor vehicle traffic and therefore is not recommended for the novice rider. But it also has some great scenery and several food stops. Highly recommended for the more adventurous rider As you pass through Fredonia, you will be a short distance from Waubedonia Park You can look at this map and note that the bike route follows Fillmore St. You could turn left on Wisconsin go a short distance to pick up the Fredonia Bike Route to get to the park. Another interesting village on the route is Waubeka, the home to the Flag Day Foundation. The turn-around point, the village of Random Lake, has excellent food stops and a wonderful beach if you prefer a picnic style lunch. The Random Lake bank has a restroom and a drinking fountain. There is an optional food stop in Belgium. Port Washington has much to see. One very unique experience is to walk out into Lake Michigan on the breakwater.
