This ride starts on the Inter Urban Trail in the center of Cedarburg. Although the route itself doesn't actually use the Trail, it makes the route easily accessible from other points on the Trail. It's a relatively easy ride that should only merit an effort level of 2; but we gave it a 3 in consideration of a few sections of roadway that have a bit more motor vehicle pressure - perfectly OK for moderately experienced riders who will be treated to some really great scenery. The route takes you to Jimmy's restaurant in Jackson (a very nice family style restaurant), through the famous Jackson Marsh, and on to Covered Bridge Park before returning to Cedarburg. Cedar Creek Road has some exceptional views of the river. For a quicker tour of the marsh and the covered bridge, it's easy to skip the village of Jackson and cut off about 7 miles. Jackson is an historic village just to the west of Ozaukee County in Washington County and the Covered Bridge Park is a major attraction of Ozaukee County. Along the way you can also visit Jackson Marsh. Of course, Cedarburg has numerous places to eat and shop and much to see.
