This is a very easy route that involves only a short section of a moderately busy county highway. The ride starts in the Port Washington harbor and proceeds south on the Interurban Trail and over the Milwaukee river bridge. After crossing the river, there is a short section of County highway followed by town roads to the Covered Bridge park. The Covered Bridge is truly one of the iconic landmarks of Ozaukee County and the adjoining park is a great place to visit. The return route simply retraces back to Port Washington. Ozaukee County is very well represented by the attractions in this short bike ride. Covered Bridge Park is the destination for this ride. Along the way you can also visit Bratt Woods. Port Washington has many great restaurants. It also has public restrooms at the harbor. Port Washington has much to see. One very unique experience is to walk out into Lake Michigan on the breakwater. Also, visit the new park that was formerly a coal dock.
