Most of this ride is pretty easy but some parts are fairly hilly. The scenery between Waubeka and Jay Road is truly exceptional. There are a few tough hills in this stretch, but the rewards are some great views and thrilling downhill runs. This is a ride for experienced riders who are looking for the best bike roads that Ozaukee County can offer. We only recommend this route for riders who can handle a 50 mile ride that includes about 15 miles of significant hills. The Hobo Truck Stop in Belgium is the designated lunch stop. If you want to skip this stop then consider a snack at the Cheese Store which is few miles earlier in the ride when you cross Hwy 57. By the time you reach Port Washington you might be ready for ice cream at the Dockside Deli! Note that it's about 26 miles to the Cheese Store and this is the first indoor bathroom opportunity. It's another 10 miles to the lunch break in Belgium. However, Waubeka (at 15 miles) has a nice little park and, depending upon the time of the day, the corner tavern might be open. This ride is not complete without a walk through the Lion's Den Gorge Nature Preserve.
